Play Area
A major innovation in the municipality of Labico, once again proving to be a centre of excellence in early childhood services.
Starting from the 2024–2025 school year, the first Experimental Outdoor Education play area has been authorised.
The project was born from a co-design effort among various cooperatives, associations, and institutions that manage early childhood services in one of the youngest municipalities in Lazio.
Outdoor Education is an educational approach based on the recognised centrality of the outdoor environment as a privileged setting for development, characterised by experiential activities grounded in creativity and multisensoriality in natural settings.
The child interacts in a natural environment; nature is a primary source of inestimable value as it provides experiences that engage all the senses: sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell are constantly and naturally stimulated, encouraging curiosity and creativity, physical and cognitive development, making the child more active, social, and participative.
The outdoor play area is an experimental service integrated with the nursery that welcomes children from 12 to 36 months. It takes place in the morning from 08:30 to 12:30. It has already been announced to families who are enthusiastic about this new offering in the area.
